School Programme

Burnley Basketball Club in association with Pendle and Burnley School Sport Partnership adn Sport England provide a basketball into schools programme. Through the programme, Burnley Basketball Club provides after and in-school to children from both primary and secondary school.
 
The focus of these sessions is on providing quality sporting experiences that will help develop sportsmanship, physical literacy and social skills amongst participants.
 
 

As well as coaching sessions, Burnley Basketball Club can also provide taster sessions, assemblies and coaching courses upon request.

Primary Schools' Festival

To promote basketball as a new sport within primary schools, Burnley Basketball Club and the School Sport Partnership are setting up a Primary Festival, where all the schools within the Burnley and Pendle area's are invited to bring representatives of their school along, the children will take part in some skill based activities and some game activities. The festival dates are as follows:
 
12th November - Pendle Vale College- Pendle- 2:30pm-4:30pm
19th November - Park High School - Pendle 2:30pm-4:30pm
27th January - Venue tba - Burnley - 1:00pm-4:00pm
 
All Schools must contact Peter Stewart before entering.
 

All Stars

Our school All Star event is currently in the planning process, we are trying to create  an event which will support the best players in the Burnley and Pendle area's but also create a competitive and supportive atmosphere.
 
The teams will be picked for the Burnley team on the following dates:

Year 7 – 2nd December @ Burnley 6th Form 4:00pm

Year 8 – 25th November @ Burnley 6th Form 4:00pm

Year 9 – 20th November @ Burnley 6th Form 4:00pm

Year 10 – 13th November @Burnley 6th Form 4:00 pm

Year 11 – 6th November @ Burnley 6th Form 4:00pm

 

For Pendle schools - You will recieve information from the PE dept which will invite you to a trial, alternatively you may get selected from your school team or practise.
 
The event is more than likely going to start around December time.
